My primary focus in wildlife biology quickly pivoted to an expanded view on ecological analysis (1981 - 1985). I saw early in my life the importance of community education in all decisions related to the natural environment. My work at Fontenelle Forest Nature Center in Bellevue, Nebraska (1981 - 1985) highlighted this as I helped build curriculum around the environment. In this role I spoke to teachers, held corporate trainings and coupled with school age tours I could see how environmental education broadly related to corporate support and the definitive support of policy decision makers. DAVID MCPHEE says of his history:    I've been painting watercolors for twenty years with a goal to capture light and mood. The most challenging aspect of my art is getting control of tonal values and that watercolor is considered a difficult medium The most rewarding thing about my work is truly difficult to answer- it is rewarding to become more competent in my painting, to become a better painter.   .  When did you start (photographing, painting, drawing )?  - I've been exploring many types of art since I was a young child - drawing, writing, painting, music, video, film, and photography. My interest in photography began about 2010 and I have been serious about it since 2015 or so.  What do you find most interesting in your choice of medium (why did you choose photography, painting, watercolor etc.)?  - I've always been drawn to the visual arts and I have a BA in Film. One of my favorite elements of cinema was the cinematography but I have come to realize that this passion is better suited to still photography. I like the portability of it, the fact that it's relatively quick, and that I can do it alone. ELIZABETH HUGHES See Instagram: eliz_hughes_art  or contact at: eliz.hughes20@gmail.com I started drawing early in life and kept a notebook of fashion designs during my early teens. A neighbor was a billboard artist but had a collection of oil paintings in his home. Inspiration! My parents gave me a set of oil paints and I started copying photos from Reader’s Digest.  Fast forward a few years, through school, medical technology training, marriage, with art very much on the back burner. An aunt was a painter and we started getting together to paint every couple of weeks and took a class or two at a local gallery. I moved from Windsor, ON, Canada to New England in January, 1968. I painted for many years, off and on, as my young family grew. My training is informal and learned from teachers in adult ed and senior centers in towns where I have lived. Classes were offered in many mediums and I tried my hand at silversmithing, and stained glass, where design elements came into play.
